Java Tech Lead for the Omnichannel Unit

We are looking for a Java Tech Lead to join our Omnichannel Unit where we design and deliver modern IT solutions that enhance customer experiences across multiple channels – from mobile applications and self-service platforms to call centre solutions. Our team works on complex digital solutions, including payment and transaction platforms, helping clients create seamless and reliable customer journeys.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership for Java-based solutions, contribute to architecture and solution design decisions, and actively participate in development activities. You will guide technical implementation, review code and technical solutions, and ensure high-quality delivery by following industry best practices and project requirements.

What you will do

  • Provide technical leadership across the engineering team.
  • Review and approve coderequirements documentation, and integration documentation.
  • Prepare Solution Design documents and actively contribute as a hands-on member of the development team.
  • Design and develop microservices-based solutions using Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x.
  • Implement and maintain REST API integrations and asynchronous messaging using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Manage database interactions with SQL (MS SQL / MySQL).
  • Deploy and operate services on AWS (including ECSVPCCloudWatch).
  • Implement and maintain OAuth2 / JWT authentication and authorization flows.
  • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket Pipelines. 

What we expect from you

Must-Have Requirements: 

  • Expert-level hands-on experience with Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x.
  • Proven experience designing and building microservices architecture.
  • Strong proficiency in REST API design principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ message brokers.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL databases, specifically MS SQL and/or MySQL.
  • Working experience with AWS services: ECSVPCCloudWatch.
  • Practical knowledge of OAuth2 / JWT security standards.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Bitbucket Pipelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a technical team and conduct thorough code and design reviews. 

Nice to Have Requirements: 

  • Experience with SWIFT payments integration.
  • Familiarity with PCI DSS and/or PSD2 compliance frameworks.
  • Hands-on implementation of 3DS2 authentication flows.
  • Background working with high-load transactional systems.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture patterns.
