Senior Data Engineer

Started as the first private Lithuania IT company in the late 80s, now Baltic Amadeus is a trusted technology partner across the EU, U.S., and Australia.

250+ IT pros work to enable digitalisation and leading-edge technologies toward clients' sustainable business growth. To ensure you the most convenient IT experience, we offer top-quality strategy consulting, custom software development, eCommerce, omnichannel, mobile banking, technology consulting, Progress OpenEdge, managed cloud, data analytics, and B2G solutions.

We are creators - whether it comes to different sizes (SMEs, enterprises, startups) or industries (fintech, telecom, logistics, you name it). We transform our clients' needs into top-notch IT solutions, products, and innovations - everything based on a simplified approach.

At Baltic Amadeus, we don’t just build pipelines — we engineer future-proof data platforms that transform how organizations operate and grow.

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer who’s excited to lead technically, architect elegantly, and deliver impact at scale. This is your opportunity to work with top-tier tech — Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks — and be a key voice in shaping next-gen data architecture across industries like wholesale, finance, insurance, telecom, and more.

If you’re tired of maintaining yesterday’s systems and ready to build tomorrow’s — let’s talk.

  • Greenfield innovation – You’ll be building enterprise-grade Lakehouse platforms from the ground up, not patching legacy.
  • Architect-level influence – Be involved in architecture decisions, technology evaluations, and governance model design.
  • Team with purpose – Join a certified, passionate, and fast-growing Data & Analytics team that's leading BA’s modern data strategy.

What you will do

  • Design and implement robust, scalable data Lakehouses with Microsoft Fabric, or Databricks.
  • Architect and optimize Lakehouse solutions (Medallion pattern – Bronze/Silver/Gold).
  • Lead data modeling, transformation logic, and orchestration for multi-domain environments.
  • Define and enforce data quality, lineage, and governance with Microsoft Purview and RBAC/SSO.
  • Collaborate with architects, DevOps, analysts, and business stakeholders across full delivery cycles.
  • Mentor mid-level engineers and contribute to internal best practices and technology evaluations.

What we expect from you

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or DWH development.
  • Expertise in SQL, Spark, Azure, and/or Databricks.
  • Proven ability to work with large-scale, high-complexity data systems.
  • Solid knowledge of data modeling, ELT/ETL patterns, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
  • English proficiency (B2+), clear communication in technical and business contexts.

What you will get

  • Hybrid work. Prefer working remotely? Want to hop into our Vilnius (HQ) or Kaunas (Hub) offices? The choice is yours! Your pet is also welcome!
  • Learning budget. Invest in your growth – whether it is a local or abroad course, training or conference – with a yearly budget that equals 50% of your monthly salary (Net).
  • Expertise Culture. Through our technology guilds, we foster continuous learning, collaboration, and expertise as a platform for knowledge sharing, skill development, and staying updated with industry trends.
  • Well-being. Access our internal and external events for your better general well-being through emotional, physical, financial and personal wellness. Plus, get private health insurance.
  • Referral program. Have talented friends? Refer them to us and earn a bonus for every successful referral you bring aboard.
  • Paid higher education leave. Take paid time off for your exam or thesis writing. We know it can be a hassle to combine your studies and career.
  • Fun. Join our team buildings or mingle at traditional BA parties. We challenge ourselves with various activities from trivia to wall climbing, from badminton to paddle board, etc.
  • Monthly salary 4000-5700 Euros (Gross). Have different expectations? We are open to considering your compensation based on your skills and experience.
